ARTICLE II – MARY MAGDALENE MINISTRIES STATEMENT OF FAITH

Section 1: THE SCRIPTURES… Are inerrant and infallible in the original manuscripts, and the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine and life.  Both Old and New Testaments, in their entirety, constitute the written Word of God. They were written by men, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and are therefore fully authoritative in all matters for the follower of Christ. (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21; Prov. 30:5; John 17:17; Rom. 15:4)

Section 2: GOD…Eternally exists in three persons (Trinity)— Father, Son and Holy Spirit — these three being identical in essence, equal in power and glory and possessing precisely the same attributes and perfection. There is one God, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, love, justice, goodness, and truth, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who desires that we should know Him intimately and live a life of fulfillment through the pursuit of His glory. (John 1:1-2; Matt. 28:19; 1 Cor. 12:4-6; Jude 20-21) (2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:21; Prov. 30:5; John 17:17; Rom. 15:4).

Section 3: MAN…Was created in the image and likeness of God, in innocence and without sin, but in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, became spiritually dead and alienated from God, and now man of himself is incapable of remedying his lost and depraved condition.  In this regard, this ministry acknowledges all who are served by this outreach are equal before God and that we will exhibit a loving, non-judgmental approach to each other with respect and caring. All humans are created in God’s image; He has created them uniquely female and male, therefore all human life is sacred. In creating humans as male and female, God communicated His image in harmonious interpersonal relationships, equality of personhood and importance and a distinction in role and authority. (Gen. 1:27; Eph. 5:21-33; Col. 3:18-19; Titus 1:6; 1 Tim. 2:11-15; 1 Tim. 3:2; 1 Cor. 14:33-35; Rom. 3:23; Rom. 3:12; Acts 4:12; 1 Thes. 5:9; Titus 2:11; Eph. 2:8; Rom. 3:25; Romans 5:1).

Section 4: THE LORD JESUS CHRIST…The eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. This redemption, He accomplished by voluntarily giving Himself as a sinless substitutionary sacrifice on the cross, thereby satisfying God’s righteous judgments against sin. After substantiating the accomplishment of that redemption by His bodily resurrection from the grave, He ascended to the right hand of His Father where He intercedes on behalf of those who trust Him. (Matt. 1:18; 2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 4:15; Mark 15:24; Mark 16:1-8; Heb. 9:26; Col. 1:13; Rom. 3:23-26)

Section 5: THE HOLY SPIRIT…Is the Divine Person who convicts the world of sin, brings new life to those who are spiritually dead, and baptizes [or places] all believers into the one true Church, which is the Body of Christ. He indwells them permanently, seals them unto the day of redemption, bestows spiritual gifts upon them and fills those who are yielded to Him.  The Holy Spirit will not draw attention to Himself, but always point to Jesus’s work completed on the cross. (2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 1:13; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38; Acts 2:41; Matt. 28:19)

Section 6: SALVATION…Is the gift of God’s grace, freely bestowed upon all who put their faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ at Calvary, apart from human meritorious works. All who so trust the Savior are forgiven of their sins and born into the family of God by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. All the saved are kept by His power and are thus secure in Christ. It is their privilege to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation. This assurance must not be the occasion for sin.  God’s holiness cannot tolerate persistent sin in His children, and in infinite love He corrects them. (Mt 8:18-22, Mt 19:25-26, Ro 3:8, Ro 3:23, Ro 8:38-39, Ro 10:9-10, Jn 3:16, Ph 3:4-11)

Section 7: SANCTIFICATION…The act or process of acquiring sanctity or being made/becoming holy or set apart for God’s purposes. (1 Co 6:11, Ro 15:15-16, 1 Co 12:13, 2 Co 1:21-22, Ep 1:13-14, 2 Th 2:13, 1 Pe 1:1-2, 1 Pet 2:2-3, De 11:18, Ps 119:12-18, Jo 17:17, Co 3:16, Ja 1:25, 1 Ti 6:11-12, 2 Co 7:1)

Section 8: THE TRUE CHURCH…Called in Scripture the Body of Christ, is the spiritual body into which every person who has trusted Jesus Christ for salvation in this present age has been baptized into by the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the head of the body of Christ.  The Scripture also teaches the establishment and continuance of local churches, groups of redeemed individuals joined together for worship, instruction, fellowship and service. We believe that the church is a spiritual body made up of all believers everywhere for all time. All Christians in all times and in all places have been united into a single body by God’s design. This resultant union is called the Body of Christ. (Ep. 1:22-23; Ep. 5:25; Jn 10:16; Ep. 4:11-13; 1 Co. 12:12-30)

Section 9: THERE ARE TWO ORDINANCES…Instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ to be observed by all believers until His return, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the outward testimony of the inward spiritual transformation in the life of one who has trusted Christ for salvation. The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His death to be observed regularly by all self-examined believers. The elements are used as emblems of the Lord’s body and blood.  Both ordinances are encouraged by the Lord to be practiced, however neither is a requirement for salvation. (Lk 3:16, Mat 3;13-17, Mk 1:9-11, Lk 3:21-22, Jn 1: 29-33, Mt 28:19-20, MK 1;4-5, MK 16;16, Ac 2:38; Mt 26:17-30, Mk 14:12-25, Lk 22:7-20, Jn 13:21-30)

Section 10: THE SECOND COMING… We believe in the personal, imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church, and His subsequent premillenial return to earth to establish His kingdom. WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS WILL RETURN TO EARTH TO JUDGE ALL PEOPLE AND TO RULE AND REIGN WITH HIS SAINTS FOREVER. All people will be resurrected to give account of their lives before God. The believer in Christ will be resurrected to everlasting blessedness and joy in the presence of God. The unbeliever will be resurrected to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment. (Titus 2:12-13; Phil. 3:20; Matt. 24:44; Matt.

Section 11: AT DEATH…The souls of those who have trusted Christ for salvation pass immediately into His presence and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the body at His coming for the Church, when soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in glory. The souls of unbelievers remain in conscious separation from God forever.  (Lk 23:43, 2 Co 5:8, Ro 8:23, Ro 8:29, 1 Th 5:23, Ep 5:27, Is 43:1-2)Type your paragraph here.
